Chester: Revealing the Rows

With so many hidden artefacts and architectural features buried in the commercial areas of Chester Rows just how do you bring them to the attention of the passing public?

The solution is an App. Revealing the Rows invites visitors into local shops and businesses to discover Chester’s rarely-seen treasures. The App is designed around Imagemakers bespoke I-Spy game developed specifically for the heritage sector. Local businesses have welcomed the App as they will also benefit from an increased footfall and local tour guides see it as a natural extension to their popular service.

The historic Rows in Chester are well-loved for their ambiance and character yet many unique artefacts and architectural features are hidden from view and only seen by a few.  These include a huge ornamental fireplace – so big it may once have hidden a priest hole – in Sofa Workshop and a Roman hypocaust in the depths of Spud-u-like where, 2000 years ago, water was heated for the baths.

Now, everyone is invited to discover these and many other treasures via “Revealing the Rows” which is free to download from the iTunes online App store.
