Copper Kingdom

I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking. Suffice it to say that I recently attended the official opening of the Copper Kingdom Centre at Porth Amlwch in Anglesey. Having worked very closely with the client team to develop the interpretive content, I feel I could be a blue badge guide for the port and the amazing nearby Parys Mountain! If you have never been to this part of the world, I would strongly recommend a visit. Today Parys Mountain resembles the surface of an alien planet with its vivid colours, crags and spoil heaps. It was once the most productive copper mine in the world, and nearby Amlwch one of the most important towns of Wales’ Industrial Revolution. The highlight of the new visitor centre for me is seeing youngsters enjoying using the touch table, and helping the oldies too!
